WINDSURFINGWith constant breezes the Islands don't disappoint as the keenest windsurfer can pretty well count on being able to surf every day. However, the seas and wind dictate that you need a fairly high level of competence and experience. The beach at São Pedro on São Vicente is reputed to be one of the finest and is starting to attract international champions. HORSE RIDINGA fantastic way to see and absorb the atmosphere of the islands, and what could be better than riding along an unspoilt shoreline. Accompanied horse riding or lessons are both available. WALKINGThe Islands provide some spectacular scenery and there are walks to suit all levels of fitness, the mountains however can produce some challenges and will require some previous experience, an above average level of fitness and proper walking boots. For some walks guides are a necessity and can be arranged and paid for locally. OTHER ACTIVITIESAll kinds of other beach related activities and water sports such as snorkelling, kite surfing, moto quarto and fun quad are alternative activities. However, due to terrain, nature of sea and beaches, not all activities are available on all of the islands. Bicycle hire is available on most islands, and car hire (generally a 4-wheel drive would be required) available on the main islands. |
